The Courtomer estate has three properties, available to rent together or separately. The minimum stay in all properties is three nights. The whole estate can be privatised for exclusive use. Learn more about each of these exceptional properties below. 

The Chateau

  • Privatisation from €7,000, including rental of the Orangerie

  • Minimum let 15 guests for three nights

  • Exclusive use of all the elegant public rooms including; the main dining room, lounge, boudoir and library.

The Farmhouse

  • The four bedroom farmhouse is available to rent from €1,075.

  • Renovated to provide a mix of old world charm and modern comforts.

  • All bedrooms are en-suite ( sleeps up to nine guests).

  • Private entrance and large walled garden.

Le Cottage du Haras

  • The Cottage du Hara is available to rent from €500.

  • 1 double en-suite bedroom.

  • Overlooks the ancient Protestant chapel (there are only four in France) at the entrance to the estate.

  • Lovingly renovated to a high standard.

The Orangerie

  • The Orangerie can only be rented in combination with the Chateau from €600.

  • If you are planning a party, creative workshop, photoshoot or a conference the Orangerie is the ideal place.

Your Accomodation FAQs

 

General

  • Yes, we have a three-night minimum stay from May 1st to the end of October. Off season we can cater for two-night stays.

  • Check in is 16.00 and check out is 11.00.

  • No, we rent the chateau out exclusively, meaning that when you stay at the Chateau you and your guests enjoy the entire Chateau to yourselves. Our pricing is based on a minimum of 15 people staying for three nights.

  • Just give us a call, fill out the form on our booking page or email us directly. To avoid disappointment please reserve early.

  • Yes, lots of our clients like to do this, prior to booking. We conduct tours by Whats App and Heather can organise one for you. Tours, virtual or actual, can only be conducted when no clients are in residence, so it is best to organise them off season, if possible.

  • Chateau de Courtomer is a two-and-a-half-hour drive west of Paris, or an hour and a half train ride from Montparnasse station to L’Aigle. L’Aigle is a 25-minute taxi drive from Courtomer.

Accomodation

  • We don’t have air conditioning in the Chateau but we can make fans available to clients in the event of hot weather. Normandy is not renowned for fierce heat, Summer temperatures during July and August average around 28°C.

  • All of the our properties are centrally heated. We also provide wood for open log fires in the winter months.

  • We make up the beds with crisp sheets and put fluffy towels in the bathrooms, ready for your arrival.

  • All our properties benefit from secure parking.

  • These can be made available on request.

  • Yes, there is a public laundry on the 1st floor. All other properties have full laundry facilities.

  • No we don’t.

  • No we don’t but they are available locally.

  • There is a wide range of accommodation around the estate, for our latest updates on the best ask for our Vendors list.

 
 

Food

  • We have lots of lovely markets around the Chateau two of the best are in Mortagne and Bellême on Saturday and Thursday morning respectively. Details of all local markets are in our Welcome Pack which will be sent to you once you have booked with us.

  • Courtomer village is just a few minutes drive or cycle ride from the Chateau. It has an excellent baker, a well stocked  convenience store and a hardware store.  Otherwise there are larger supermarkets in Sees, Mortagne, Aigle and Alençon, some of which offer a click and collect service. There are no supermarkets that deliver to the Chateau.

  • No local supermarkets deliver to the Estate and we don’t provide a stock your fridge service. However some of our recommended chefs may be willing to do this.

  • Yes, some local wine merchants will deliver but please note that all deliveries should be scheduled during your stay. Please ask Heather at our office for the correct address to ensure that your deliveries arrive on time.

 

Transport

  • Yes, to get the most out of your stay with us you need to have transport.

 

For guests who require more support to make their stay more relaxing and enjoyable we can provide a range of services. Please note that all services should be booked in advance, the cost will be added to your final invoice.
