The tastes of Normandy…

Normandy is one of the main gastronomic regions of France — and not just because of its wonderful butter, cream, cheese and cider. The rich farmlands around the Chateau produce excellent beef, lamb, and pork and a mouthwatering array of fruit and vegetables. You will find a wide range of local produce at any of the farmers markets which are held regularly in the area.

Eating In

If you want to hire a local chef to cater for you, please ask Heather for our Vendors list.  We recommend that you book all external suppliers as soon as you confirm your booking with us. The good ones get very busy!

Eating Out

During the summer season local restaurants get booked up well in advance too. We recommend you book at least two months ahead during the high season.

For groups of more than 10 people most good restaurants will ask you to choose a single menu, so you and your friends or family will have to choose what this is in advance. Also note that many restaurants in the French countryside will not accept ‘drop in’ customers after 8.30 pm.
